We are ProSteer Driving Academy Inc., a well-known name in Driver Education serving Calgary, Okotoks, High River, Chestermere, Airdrie, and surrounding locations for budding drivers who want to get on the road with complete knowledge of road rules. We strive to provide you with a detailed driving education that ensures safety for all road users, and we make every possible effort to help you earn your driving license with confidence on your first attempt.

Our Teaching Philosophy
At ProSteer Driving Academy Inc., we provide our students with a positive, supportive, and encouraging learning environment with complete engagement. All our instructors connect with students so that they can understand all the technicalities of driving using proven, modern-day, cutting-edge methodologies. We pace our courses based on individual needs through various means, like pictorial explanations, conceptual understanding, supporting material, and repetitive practice.
Our expert instructors provide personalized lessons that fit the student's current skill set. All programs are tailored based on the individual's needs and wants, and are never rushed, because we believe that gaining this life skill is a marathon and not a sprint.
Course Structure
Our course follows a clear-cut Alberta Transport Department Suggested lesson plan as detailed below. Each lesson is for 2 hours and caters to all aspects of a safe driver, from Novice to Highly skilled professional driver.
Lesson 1: Foundations & Control
This lesson focuses on vehicle controls knowledge, Health Checks (Exteriors, Under the hood inspection and interiors of the vehicle), Basic Habits before and during the drive, Left and Right Turns on controlled Intersections, Straight-line Backing, Deviation Backing with or without instructor demonstration, and Hazard Awareness and management. This lesson focuses more on building confidence among the students while driving along the road for various dynamic situations and getting hands-on experience within a safe and controlled environment.
Lesson 2: Procedures & Cognitive Skills
Quick recap and review of Lesson 1 topics and practice on the concepts learned (a 30-minute session to repeat and hone the topics). This lesson also includes various parking procedures (Parallel, Perpendicular, Angular, Uphill/Downhill Parking), Uncontrolled intersections, Multilane intersections and single/Multi lane Traffic circles, Lane Changing and highway merging, railway crossings, One-way roads, etc. This lesson emphasises Building Confidence and cognitive skills.
Lesson 3: Fine-Tuning Habits
1 hour review and practice from Lesson 1 and 2. This lesson focuses on fine-tuning the driving habits of the students and keeping instigating professional driving skills through constant feedback and teaching as per requirements.
Lesson 4: Advanced Urban Driving
This lesson focuses on Advanced urban driving with more exposure to dense traffic and various challenges encountered on highly dynamic roads, busy parking areas, multilane highways, multilane turns, and downtown conditions.
Lesson 5: Independent Driving & Assessment
This lesson focuses more on independent driving and revision of the skillset acquired through previous lessons and the final driver assessment. A successful Assessment with 7.5 and above grades will be used for the course completion certificate for insurance reduction purposes.
After the Final Assessment
Based on the assessment, student's learning capabilities, and skillset acquired, as well as home-based practice and additional practice needs, we can incorporate brush-up lessons on a need basis.
