Terms & Conditions

Please read these terms and conditions carefully. By booking with ProSteer Driving Academy, you agree to the following policies.

This contract is between ProSteer Driving Academy Inc., referred to as the School, offering Class 5 In-Vehicle Training, and the Student/Student Guardian, referred to as the Student. This contract details the terms and conditions for both parties for a successful course completion.

For the School:

  • The School is bound to provide training in the utmost professional manner. All lessons will be provided at the scheduled time, and any delays (if they occur) will be communicated to the Student/Parent/Guardian upfront.
  • The training vehicle will be clean and in good running condition during the training, carrying all required documents, including a valid license plate, registration, and insurance.
  • Vehicles used for driving lessons must follow Alberta Transportation guidelines, including dual brakes, additional mirrors, visual signs, and regular maintenance/log reports.
  • Only licensed instructors will conduct the lessons, and they will produce their instructor's license and operator's license upon request.
  • The School will provide a clean and sanitized vehicle before every class for a joyful driving lesson.
  • The School will pick up and drop off the Student at the agreed location within city limits at no extra cost.
  • To avoid any mishap and provide an optimum level of training, instructors must always be attentive during the class.
  • If the School has to cancel a lesson due to unforeseen reasons and exigencies (e.g., instructor illness, vehicle breakdown), the School will adjust or reschedule the lessons based on the Student's preferences.
  • The instructor will discuss the Student's performance after every class and make notes in the in-vehicle report card.

For Students/Parents/Guardians:

  • As every student is unique in nature, learning capabilities, and experience level, it is the Parents'/Guardians' obligation to inform the School about every detail, including any medical, physical, or mental health conditions (such as ADHD, asthma, contact lenses, diabetes, epilepsy, hearing difficulty, paralysis, etc.) which could directly relate to the Student's performance in any aspect of the courses. This helps the instructors adjust their teaching style and techniques to impart the best possible training sessions.
  • Students must keep their driver’s license with them during the class and should be able to present it upon request.
  • The use of tobacco products, alcohol, and any sort of intoxicating drugs is strictly prohibited during the driving lessons. If the instructor observes that a Student arrives for a lesson in an intoxicated condition, the driving lesson will be cancelled at the Student's expense and they may be dropped from the course without any refund.
  • Students and Parents/Guardians authorize the School to communicate through text messages or calls if needed for real-time coordination.
  • All fees are due at the time of booking the course unless otherwise arranged with an office representative. All payments can be made using a debit/credit card, cash, or e-transfer. Debit/credit card payments will include a 2.9% processing fee in the final invoice.
  • Parents/Guardians shall be responsible for providing coverage for their own vehicle while providing extra practice to the student driver.
  • For a lesson no-show, a fee of $99 will be charged and must be paid before the next class. If it remains unpaid, the next lesson will not be conducted.
  • The Student/Parent/Guardian must provide at least 24 hours' advance notice to the School via a call or text/WhatsApp message before making any change to the existing schedule. Failure to do so will result in a $99 fee, as this will be treated as a no-show.
  • Students are required to conduct themselves professionally to maintain a respectful learning environment during the in-vehicle lessons. Any misbehaviour, misconduct, or disruptive action may result in immediate cancellation of the lesson at the discretion of the School, at the Student’s expense for that lesson.
  • Students (above 18 years) and Parents/Guardians will be held liable for any willful damage to school property caused by the Student. Penalties can include dismissal of the Student and/or forfeit of the fee to cover the loss, along with any legal actions required.

Refund Policy:

  • Students/Parents/Guardians may request a refund if they wish to withdraw from the training at least 14 days before the scheduled start date, subject to a $50 processing fee.
  • For cancellations of classes or withdrawal from the course between 7 and 14 days of the first scheduled lesson, only 50% will be refunded.
  • No refund will be issued in the case of any cancellation within 7 days of the first scheduled lesson.
  • The refunded amount will not include credit card fees.
  • In the case of any unforeseen circumstances where the School is unable to impart the incomplete training, the School will reimburse the remaining amount to the Student based on a prorate basis.
